Year of the Dragon

As this is the year of the dragon, a huge sculpture of a dragon has been created. It is made up of hundreds of small bowls. Really cool! Started working in the studio with the local porcelain, might have to rethink how to work with it, a bit different than at home in Oz.

Arrived in Jingdezen

Arrived at the Pheonix Ceramic Residency and met up with all the other ceramic artists, 10 Australians and 3 from Brazil. Drove past the exhibition centre where our works will be displayed - it is a huge! Very quiet in Jingdezen today because of the holiday (they are all in Shanghai I think). Saw some huge saucers, they would have to be 1.5m across, all left out on the street to dry. Everything is ceramic here, even the lamp posts!
